IMPLANT-SUPPORTED RESTORATION WITH DIGITAL IMPRESSION CAPTURE
This patient was treated by Professors David and Miguel Peñarrocha with Ticare® y PICdental®. Both the upper and lower arches were restored but only this case study only deals with the maxillary treatment. A flapless surgery technique was used to place 6 InHex standard implants (4.25 mm diameter). Distal implants were tilted to avoid the maxillary sinus. The positions of the implants were recorded using the PIC® camera, a system that uses stereophotogrammetry to obtain the accurate relative position of each implant in vector format. This information was then combined with digitised soft tissue data obtained from conventional impressions by Best-fit®. Based on this combined information, a permanent hybrid resin-bonded metal restoration was designed which was placed with immediate loading. This case has a 5-year follow-up period.
